As described in Ancient Norse Mythology, The Ymir was seen as a ''Creator God'' – responsible for not only The World, but all within it (rivers, mountains etc). As early as 13th Century Skald (Norse) Poetry, The Ymir was described in various forms, from ''beast'' to a ''human-hybrid'' form. It was said to have been formed from the ''venom'' of another ''Older and more powerful God''. The Ymir was the ''root'' from which Odin and the other Norse Gods and Goddesses of renown originated from (by some accounts). According to Norse Legend, with the death of Ymir (at the hands of His offspring) – His flowing blood rained down on The World as a Flood (giving The Norse a comparative Saga similar to Western Civilizations tale of The Flood from biblical sources as well as other Cultures reference).
