The term ''Year One'', is given to a belief sponsored by noted Satanist Anton LaVey, to establish the ''foundation'' of what would become ''The Church of Satan''. Established in 1966 in San Francisco, California (US), LaVey claimed that the ''true'' Age of Satan or ''Enlightenment'' began with 1966 or – ''Year One''. The term is still widely followed and ascribed to by His ''Followers''.
