An important Demon-Entity in Tibetan-Buddhist philosophy, Yamantaka (also known as "The Terrifier", was a large blue-skinned Demon. He had 8 heads and 34 arms (each holding a fiercesome weapon). Around his neck was a necklace of severed human heads. His eyes were a glowing fire red. Yamantaka was also "The Lord of The Dead". As fierce as Yamantaka looked and acted, he wad considered a "Good" or "Helpful" Demon, greatly needed for one to achieve spiritual perfection. Understanding and controlling him, meant an understanding and control of death. The "severed heads" represented the numerous sins one had to face and deal with. Likewise, by gazing into the multiple "red eyes" of Yamantaka, one could eventually find truth. The many weapons he carried are used to slay (or purge) the sins of life, that could not be carried into the next life.
