A first foray into Horror Sci-Fi, British Hammer Studios produced this 1957 feature. A bit campy with regards to a real Monster, X (as it is called), is actually a someone clever creation. Apparently, millions of years ago, Ancient life developed in the space between earth's core and the natural radiation the Planet produces. Living in this narrow corridor, the Lifeform (which is a blob-like, mud blop ), is rather intelligent. As a result of Human experimentation with Atomic Weapons, X is lured out of his World and into ours (in search of a meal, it seems). Getting too close to X is an issue as well. A human will burn to death (from radiation) in seconds. After the normal amount of B-Movie deaths, a Scientist lure X to their Lab (with exposed radiation). Tapping it inside, X is bombarded with radiation reducing rays killing it. Although silly, the film actually has great atmosphere and creepy effects.
