Once occupying a section of The Town of Clovis, California – Wolfe Manor was seen as one of the most haunted homes in California. Built in 1922, the 8,000 square foot Home boasted many ‘’modern wonders’’ that only the very wealthy could afford. It even included a basement pool. But The Family that occupied The Manor had nothing but misfortune. Several deaths and even a suicide would lead to it being vacated until the property was purchased in 1935 and renovated into Hazelwood Sanitarium. It would remain such until it was closed down for ‘’unsafe conditions’’ in 1992. Here too, many tales of ‘’Shadowy Figures’’ and other paranormal phenomenon were experienced by many of The Staff. But The Property would stay empty for long. In 1996, based on the history of The House and Property, as well as several ‘’paranormal investigations’’ – led a business entrepreneur Todd Wolfe - to purchase the property and turn it into a ‘’perpetual’’ Haunted House attraction. However, many Visitors felt that perhaps some of the ‘’gags’’ were actual ‘’spectral contacts’’. After several complaints, The City refused to renew the Permit of Usage. The City purchased the House and tore it down in 2014. But apparently, no one wants to buy the land for development…….One Wonders Why?
