Universal Studios 1932 ''White Zombie'' is seen by many Horror Film Fans as among the first such ''Zombie'' Films. Using the traditional ''Voodoo'' created ''creatures'', it starred Horror Film Great, Bela Lugosi as a French (hence the Title ''White''), Voodoo Practitioner who is commissioned by a wealthy sugar Plantation Owner – to supply Him with ''cheap Slave Labor''. Creating an ''Army of The Undead'' seems to work, until the object of The Plantation Owner's desire, an American Woman, comes into play. When His unrequited love goes unanswered, He has Lugosi transform Her into His ''Love Slave''. Her real love battles both Lugosi and His ''Army'', until Lugosi loses His power over His minions. Both He and His Zombies fall from a cliff, killing all and ''breaking the spell'' over The Heroine. A bit typical for the Era of Horror Films in the 1930s, ''White Zombie'' is still a classic piece of early Zombie Film lore.
