Verneshot

This ''End of The World'' Event known as The ''Verneshot'', was so named for 19^th Century ''Grandfather of Modern Science-Fiction'' Writer Jules Verne. The geological Event had ACTUALLY occurred (speculated several times, in fact), when The Earth was still in it's ''formation stages'' Billions of years hence. However, the probability of a ''Verneshot' happening again is still a very REAL possibility. Linked to intense volcanic activities, in short – ''The Shot'' is created by untold eons of sub-strata (below The Earth) gases building to intense pressures. Normally, such pressures are released naturally thru common volcanic eruptions (both above The Earth and deep within The Oceans). BUT, it is speculated, that if not ENOUGH of these ''pressure valves'' fail to relieve a suitable enough of such – the pressures BUILD and BUILD. It is thought by Science that should a massive breach in the Earth's Crust ''breaks'', a massive plume of gases would be projected at great speeds over 60-miles directly into what Man calls ''Sub-Orbital Space'' (atmosphere). The resulting ''gaseous cloud'' of poisonous gases would (within weeks), cover the entirety of The Planet in a ''Shroud'' (as it were). Akin to ''Nuclear Winter'', NO SUN or WARM would penetrate The Planet. As a result, (in very short time), plant eco-systems would die, as would drains on Societal Resources. The Earth would ''die'' within a year of a ''Verneshot'' (assuming Some decide to ''dwell'' beneath The Surface and ''wait it out''). Given (only) data speculated from Nuclear War Sceanrios, it is hard to determine just ''how long'' One would have to ''live underground'' AFTER a ''Verneshot''......
