It's origins obscure – as so to it's ''name'', a commonly ''prescribed'' curative in Louisiana Hoodoo is a chemical known as ''Van Van Oil'', Mentioned as early as the 1840s, The Oil is made from a great variety of different organic plants (Coconut, Aloe, etc). Often, it is also infused with whole leaf fragments. The ''formula'' varies due to the fact that it is ''made'' (by hand) according to ''what'' it is needed for. In the 1950s, Van Van Oil was marketed as a type of cologne/perfume used to ''attract'' the opposite sex. It is also used to protect one from Evil, Illness or Hexes. Van Van can still be found for sale to date in The American South.
