An early Finnish mythological ''figure'' – especially among Paganism – ''Vainamoinen'', was a ''Demi-God'' whose ''voice'' was ''magical''. He could so influence ''Evil away from Good'' (in some versions). A Magician by ''trade'', Vainamoinen was featured in many early Finnish tales as a Hero figure. So popular and long lasting in that Culture (even surpassing the establishment of Christianity), He would serve as an early influence for JRR Tolkien's legendary literary figure of ''Gandalf'' (The Wizard) from His ''Lord of The Rings'' Trilogy.
