From Japanese Mythos, The Uwan's origin is shrouded. They are Classed as Yokai (Spirit), but not necessarily Human. They are described as ''huge, thick blobs of flesh, with a Human-like face and arms''. Their ''teeth'' were black. This blackening was an actual procedure used by some Warrior and Nobility, as a sign of their Peerage. Some Researchers cite that The Uwan are actually the Spirits of such Humans, cursed to return in this form as ''punishment for some misdeed''. The Uwan is said to have the ability to use it's ''voice'' in such a ''menacing tone'', as to incite fear. They use this tactic to deny sleep to those they ''haunt''. This is supposed to eventually drive their Victims insane.
