The concept of The Undine is seen throughout Europe, with it's origins going back to the 12th Century. Germanic in it's beginnings, The Undine were Spirits of Females who were betrayed in love. Perhaps they were "left at The Altar" or otherwise "jilted", they often lived our their lives is solitude and misery. Upon their death, these Women "return" in Spirit Form to seek revenge and you try and protect other Women from making the same mistake (of falling in love with a Scoundrel). Seen as "beautiful Women", they live in and around Lakes and Rivers. They will lure only those "handsome" Men who are not faithful to their "true love". Death is most often by drowning, although some Countries attach other more gruesome forms of punishment (depending on the Legend).
