''Unclean Force''

A Russian term and concept dating to perhaps the 14th Century AD – ‘’Unclean Force’’ was used to describe primarily ‘’All Evil and Impure’’ Things. For a time, it was also used specifically to identify The Devil. Later, anyone who died by suicide, misadventure, alcoholism and a host of other ‘’ungodly’’ maladies, were also referred to as ‘’Unclean Forces’’. Normally, such ‘’Spirits’’ could manifest themselves for the purpose of possession. The term is still found in use among the superstitious. When uttered, it is traditional to make ‘’The Sign of The Cross’’ (as it relates to The Orthodox Catholic Rite). If One is ‘’attacked’’ by an Unclean Force, they are considered (and referred to as) ‘’Spoiled’’.
