As We have seen previously, the Igbo Peoples of Nigeria (Africa) – have a rather complicated Mythos regarding Ghosts or Spirits. Likewise, Animals feature prominently in Their Religious Beliefs. All Things in nature have a Spirit and in some cases, The Igbo can ‘’commune’’ with Them. One such ritual (seldom practiced today), is the consumption of an elixir called ‘’Umm Nyolokh’’. The ‘’formula’’ involves taking the bone marrow and liver of a Giraffe. So ‘’pulverized’’, this ‘’fluid’’ is then swallowed. What is said to happen next is a hallucinogenic ‘’experience’’ in which the former Giraffe Spirit will appear to The Person and guide Them on a Spiritual Journey of understanding.
