An innovative and unusual American Horror Television series – ''True Blood'' was created by Alan Ball. Based on American Gothic Horror Writer Charlaine Harris' series of Books titled ''The Southern Vampire Mysteries'', it was a moderately successful Cable Show, eventually shown throughout The World. Running from 2008 until 2014, the 80-episode run introduced a unique take on Vampires. As the series developed, We find that Vampires exist and ''decide'' to make their presence known to The World. In order to curb their ''need to feed'' on Humanity, ''Science'' has invented a synthetic blood substitute marketed as ''True Blood''. Drinking it sates The Vampires hunger. The majority of the Show is set in a backwoods Louisiana (US) Town with the main character – ''Sookie''. She meets and falls in love with ''Bill Compton'', a 140-year old Vampire. Sookie turns out to have the ability to ''read people's minds'' and is further resistant to any Vampire's ability to ''cloud Human will'' (known as ''Glamoring''). A parade of characters, both Good and Evil, as well as Ghosts, Werewolves and other Paranormal Entities become fodder for the series. Deep backgrounds stories eventually spell out much of Show's Fan following (which was large). The Vampires of course have an agenda for Humanity (as does just about every other ''Creature'' which is highlighted). Good special effects and sometimes good story arcs, make ''True Blood'' a somewhat good ''Horror Soap Opera'' to binge.......
