Another Ancient form of execution (invented by Rome), was Tree Pulling. The process involved two young trees being pulled downward and cross angled. The trees used were normally of equal length and height (they were next tied down). A Victim's legs were tied to the tops of the downed trees. A the appropriate time, the trees were cut, causing them to quickly move upright and back into their original position. The result for the Victim was being torn in half. It was an effective psychological weapon for Rome.
