A ideology of Catholicism (initially) – ''Transverberation'' is the Belief that God can (through periods of intense and unrelenting Prayer), ''mark'' various Human internal organs – with scar tissue which, resembles ''Religious Imagery''. Also known as ''Religious Ecstasy'', many examples are cited in the 13th thru 17th Centuries AD (and mostly in cases of future Saints of The Catholic Church). Not immediately known to most, some of the first ''studies'' into the phenomenon was in 1961. it was based on various records of various Saints (Male and Female).Of the more ''famous'' Cases, Saint Teresa of Avila (a Founder of the Carmelite Sisterhood), She was ''touched by the finger of God on Her Heart''. It was said that after Her death, examination of Her visera by Medical Authority ''found'' the shape of a Cross – seemingly ''burned'' into the tissue. Other examples of Transverberation (of which there are actually few examples, are other images ''seared'' into not only the internal organs, but outer flesh of such persons who are over zealous in their prayers and devotions. While no existing examples of tissue cane prove (one way or the other), if Transverberation really can happen – it is thought to be an issue of ''faith'' among ''extremely faithful'' Catholic Believers.
