In Chinese Folk Magic ''circles'' – a ''Tongji'' is a Spirit Medium, relative to an Oracle. The Tongji were selected from Boys mostly by Shaman specially trained to ''recognize'' them. The Tongji could ''commune'' with The ''Spirit Realm'' and relate questions and answers back to The ''Living Realm''. Often, they worked with Healing Shaman – to ensure no ''demonic'' influences were behind various illnesses.
