Perhaps one of ancient China's ''oldest'' Deities and belief systems, ''Tian'' was a ''Divine Creator'' God whose Cult dates to the 17th Century BC and The Shang Dynasty. ''His'' very name (Character) and symbol means ''Heaven''. Many Western Scholars cite that ''Tian'' may not have been a personified form, but a Concept for ''The Afterlife'', ''Universe'' and the belief in ''never ending Life'', as can be found in Buddhism and several other Eastern Religious Beliefs.
