The ‘’World Wide Web’’ is a component of everyday Life. No facet of today’s ‘’existence’’ is not ‘’connected’’, it seems. But LONG before The Intranet, Internet and ‘’WWW’’ – a basic theory was put forth by Inventor extraordinaire Nicola Tesla, which postulated a VERY similar form of technology. But unlike 1991 when the basic foundation for The WWW, Tesla’s Theory – dubbed The ‘’World Wireless System’’ was first drafted in 1890! Telsa was the ‘’darling’’ of Millionaire JP Morgan. Morgan’s business interests were in competition to Inventors Thomas Edison and (later) Guglielmo Marconi. Tesla had proven many times that His (then) ‘’Fringe’’ Technology was he ‘’Way of The Future’’. This ‘’future’’ meant money, which is what ultimately motivated Morgan.

Tesla’s idea was ‘’simple’’. Using a series of ‘’Transmission Stations’’, located around The World, He speculated that He could direct energy transmissions using The Earth’s atmosphere to ‘’bounce’’ and later ‘’direct’’, to ‘Reception Stations’’. These energy frequencies could then be used to ‘’power’’ Electrical Devices as well as ‘’send and receive’’ messages (information). This would lessen the overall time it took to transmit such signals throughout The World. The T6esla dubbed ‘’World Wireless System’’ was meant to not only enhance but eventually do away with the Telegraph and the Marconi advanced ‘’Radio Telegraph’’ System.

But the overall cost proved to be too great, even for a Millionaire like Morgan. Without an ‘’exact and proven’’ working example – Tesla’s ‘’theory’’ of World Wireless never advance past the construction of His ‘’first Station’’ in New England (with an aim to building a similar one in Europe – England). Seeing the advantages of a working Radio Telegraph (Marconi), especially for Shipping and Commerce, Morgan ‘’pulled the plug’’ on Tesla’s Project. Modern Scientists state that Tesla’s Theory would not have worked due to the (then) state of technology between 1890 and 1906 (when Tesla built His first Transmission Station). Others state that Tesla’s idea had great merits. The World will never truly know……………
