The term ''The Witching Hour'' is most commonly associated with the ''belief'' that practitioners of Magic (in all forms), needed to conduct their ''craft'' at a certain hour of the night. The concept was developed during The European Middle Ages (possibly), and was closely associated with the previously discussed ''Witches Sabbath''. The prescribed ''hours were (initially) 12 Midnight and then (later), 3am. In the case of ''3am'' Rituals, this period may have developed as a belief in the 20th Century, as a result of perceived ''Satanic Practices''. These dictate that 3am is seen as the opposite of 3pm – when Christ was said to have expired on The Cross. Some Arcane Scholars also state that both time periods were more prompted by Writers as a means of creating ''atmosphere'' than actual ceremonial requirements.
