The unusual Folk Tale of The ''Witch of Saratoga'' is native to Colonial America (New York). It was during The American Revolution, that one Angeline Tubbs was brought from Northamptonshire, England by Her Fiance, a British Officer. After the defeat at The Battle of Saratoga (1777), He abandoned the girl and went back to England. Without means, it was said She walked for many miles until She found a Cabin (some versions say it was a cave). Tubb began to carve out a living by working as a Folk Remedy Practitioner. She also had a fondness for cats (of which She had hundreds). Many easily saw Tubb as a Witch. In fact many shunned Her. She would live to a ''ripe old age'' of 104. And although Her ''cats'' have long since ''left'' as well, She is still said to be ''seen'' haunting the local Woods around Saratoga, New York – trying to find them. In fact, some state that one should NEVER hurt stray cats. Doing so, will invoke Her anger and She will ''haunt'' one's home until they ''change their ways''.
