This English Ghost story involves Haight Manor House. According to legend, Sir Bradshaigh (who was a Supporter of The House of York), married The Lady Mabel in 1315. With the advent of The War of The Roses, his side lost a key Battle to The Lancasters. Fearing execution, The Lord ran off to France (leaving his young Bride). With several years passing, she gave him up for dead and married again. "Re-enter" Lord Bradshaigh again as well. Feeling it now safe to return to England, he found his wife remarried. So angered, he killed the poor new husband withour by or leave! As for Lady Mabel's punishment, The Lord promptly withdrew his fortune and returned to France, leaving Mabel destitute and alone for the rest of her life. Said to haunt the Halls of Haigh Manor still, Mabel is seen in white gown. Mounting the life she was denied, it is said one will go insane if they stare into her eyes!
