This Case of UFO encounter falls into the category of "Mass Sighting" (a Sighting witnessed by multiple sources which produce Regional or National attention), the facts and sensationalism were "buried" in time...until now! January 1, 1966 is normally Winter season in Wanaque, New Jersey. Snow and ice are the "order of the day". However, some else quickly took over the otherwise quiet winter evening. Starting at 6:00 PM, Residents of three New Jersey Town, began to call into their local Polices Agencies. Their concern, strange "lights", seen moving throughout the Heavens. Near Raymond Dam (a 1,500 foot long reservoir with a man-made concrete dam), The Wanaque Police Department began receiving calls of a "bright Red light" over The Dam. Fearing a fire, a Unit responded to the location. Even before arriving, Police stated over their radio of a "possible fire condition" Due to red "sky" over the frozen Dam.

Upon arrival, Police saw other civilian cars, with their occupants staring into the sky over the Dam. Upon arrival by foot at the top of the Dam, Police saw what everyone was stating at. Several hundred feet in the air over The Dam, was a "bright, circular Craft", hovering roughly 100 feet over the frozen water. All present were in awe and amazing over the sight. Within several minutes, a bright light was emitted from underneath the glowing Object. The "beam of light" was projecting down onto the ice and appeared to be "cutting a hole" through the surface. Several people with cameras, began to take photos. Members of the local CD (Civilian Defense) Agency showed up and they too were amazed at what was being seen. After 15-minutes, the Object began to change colors from White to Green and Red. Then, the Craft's "light beam" turned off and the Object slowly ascended into the sky and out of sight. The incident was well documented Regionally and Nationally. Even The Government Agency Project: Blue Book investigated. No official answer was ever given. No test results of the burn mark left by the "light beam" was ever made known. Naturally, as the ice melted and seasons changed, most slowly forgot about the incredible encounter. The Dam still stands.
