In January of 1981, near Var, France a Farmer reported hearing a strange noise near his home. Working in the nearby fields, he went to investigate. The Farmer sated that he was what appeared to be a Saucer-shaped Object some 50 feet from his house (on the ground). He stated that the Object appeared to be glowing from it's bottom section (against the earth). As the Farmer began to approach, the Craft immediately rose up off the ground (10 feet). Hover for a brief second, it continued to rise until it was high in the sky. It continued going straight up until it was out of sight. The Farmer examined the ground where the Object had rested. It looked as if it had been devoid of grass and had a packed and hardened appearance to it. The Farmer said the ground was warm to the touch. He also reported that an unusual burning smell was present. The Farmer called the Police (who investigated) and then advised The Government. An analysis of the earth showed that it had been subjected to intense weight and pressure (as if by mechanical means) to a weight of 5 tons. All area ground nutrients were down as well by 30 percent. Radioactive trace elements were not unusual. The Investigate group determined that the imprint was not circular enough to match the Craft the Farmer stated saw. Soon stories of hoax began to spread. The interesting thing is that the circular imprint STILL remains today (and is visited by UFOlogists and Tourists).
