Odd name for an even odder Case. Tomato Man is a term applied to possible photographic evidence of an Alien body retrieval effort of The US Government. A crash of a possible UFO near Laredo, Texas on July 7, 1948 (within The Roswell Case Timeline). Further, photographic evidence came to light (by accident) in 1978 that showed the recovery results . The photos were supposedly taken by a Naval Photographer dispatched to the scene. He claimed (to his children), that a 90 foot in diameter Craft had crashed into the ground (and was smashed to bits and pieces). Further investigation yielded the burned remains of an occupant . According to what is known from July 7, 1948 (as fact) is that at 10 P.M. NORADs Distant Early Warning (DEW) System activated. Designed to alert American Forces of possible Missile attack, The System of Radar began to track an incoming Object traveling at roughly 2,000 miles per hour! Determining the Object was not an incoming Missile, it appeared to have made landfall over Texas. Interceptors were dispatched over the area. Pilots made visual contact of a debris field . Local Army Reserve Units were sent to the location to secure and retrieve any wreckage . The Navy was requested to sent a Photographer.
The Navy Photographer (who is still unnamed), stated that he was told to make a record of a Crash. He was driven to the Site. There, he saw what appeared to be a Craft (Saucer-shaped) had buried in the ground (sticking out). The surrounding area was completely littered with pieces of metal of varying sizes and shapes. He noted Army Personnel picking up the metal and putting it into bags and cardboard boxes. The Photographer took photos of the Craft and debris field. Told by a General (nearby) that the Craft was a Top Secret Test Plane that had crashed, the Photographer was quickly taken to a stand of nearby trees. Told to photograph the remains of the ejected Pilot , he thought that a strange request. The Photographer immediately noted something strange about the so-called remains . Although badly burned, he could make out that the Being was around 4 feet tall with a Small rounded Head . He saw no eyes, mouth, ears or other distinguishing features. He noted that he had seen burnt bodies before in the War. These appendages were NOT burnt or melted off (they simply never were there!) The skin appeared very smooth and dark gray. He also noted what appeared to be wiring coming from two different spots on top of the head . A pair of eye glasses were placed in the picture for perspective . After the photographs were taken, all evidence was transported to an undisclosed Military Base . The film was taken to be developed (40 rolls total). Apparently, (and the Photographer claimed he had forgotten) 1 roll stayed in his pocket! The photos have been examined many time over the years since rediscovered in 1978 by Family members. They are all dated to the late 1940s. When they became known to The Government (via the civilian Press), they stated that the Photographs were of burned Monkeys used in a German V2 Rocket Experiment .
