Perhaps no "Legendary" weapon (aside from King Arthur's Blade "Excalibur"), has generated more mention in History, than the Blade of The Archangel Michael. It forging is unknown (but no doubt was generated from "Heavenly" sources). It's use was also quite legendary as well. It was this blade wad Michael used to expel Lucifer and his Minions from Heaven into "The Infernal Regions". Much of this early Christian legend is derived from The Bible (The Books of Daniel and most importantly, Revelations). The story tells of a War in Heaven. In this Conflict, God gives Michael command of his Army of Angels. The "Enemy" is the Angel Lucifer and his like minded Forces of Conspiratory Angels. Challenging God's Authority, the Battle ends with Lucifer's banishment. As early as the 4th Century AD, Michael and his Sword were depicted in both Art and Literature, withe a decidedly "Greco-Roman" appearance. This was in most small part due to Christianity becoming the official State Religion of Emperor Constantine's Rome (which still retained much of it's "Imperial" grandeur). By the 17th Century, Michael and his Sword were firmly placed in legend with Author John Milton and his work "Paradise Lost". Described as a cross between a Roman Gladius and the longer Spatha Sword, it has changed slightly (depending on The Era). The hybrid blade would be around 3.5 feet long (almost 4.5-feet in total). It would move doubt be double-edged. Plain yet finely wrought, his Sword is considered the true "Weapon against Evil".
