Devised in Feudal Russia, The ''Street Sweeper's Daughter'' was a “compression” Torture device (similar in physics to “The Scavenger's Daughter”). In construction, it was a pliable iron frame roughly shaped into the outline of a human form. The “legs” featured wooden pegs with which to attach the Victims feet). Once “strapped in” and suspended by ropes from the ceiling, the Victim would be hung upside down. The resulting pressure from the victims weight would push down on the chest (via the immobilized legs and feet). ANY movement increased pressure. The result was almost immediate “nose bleeds” and related bodily discharges. Prolonged exposure could cause edema and death.
