17th Century America was a hotbed of superstitious beliefs and customs. However, of all the best "documented" Cases of Paranormal activities, "The Stone Throwing Devil of New Hampshire" survives as one of the best. In 1662, George Walton was a Farmer in New Castle, New Hampshire . A tad greedy, he wished a large tract of nearby land occupied by an old Widowed woman. Using his influence with Town Elders, he had the Old Woman arrested for Witchcraft. Now safely out of his way, George began the legal proceedings to purchase her land and Cabin. Perhaps a twang of guilt creeper in to George, for he did not want her death on his hands (the immediate punishment for being convicted of being a Witch). He recanted his testimony and she was set free, still poor and now homeless. The last thing the Old Woman said to George Walton was this: "Ye shall never quietly enjoy the Ground". With that "curse", she disappeared from Town.

Moving his Family into his new property, almost immediately thing started to go wrong. Hardly had the Family been inside the Old Woman's Cabin, than "rocks and pebbles" of all sizes and shapes - began to pelt all windows at the same time! When wooden shutters were closed, the rocks simply got bigger. Next doors were splintered by massive force as was large holes smashed into the roof, again by rocks and stones. Later, Objects would fly off shelves, glass dishes would shatter, and George would receive no less than 40 invisible welts to his body a day! When George had his Farm Hands begin to harvest, their tools would mysteriously break and shatter (even if just newly forged). Town religious figures tried all manner of practice to remove the unseen Spirits. Nothing worked. The Case even made local Newspapers. Finally, after three months of non-stop torment, the attacks simply stopped. Many think that the Old Woman must have died, and with her...the curse!
