Reported in Southwestern Illinois (US), on January 8, 2000 - the Owner of a miniature Golfing Courses came to work around 4:00 AM, to do maintenance on his business. Due to the cold weather and lack of Customers, work still needed to be done. While working outside however, the Owner noticed a bright "Light" in the pre-dawn sky. Thinking it nothing more than a Commercial Airliner, he went about his chores. The Light grew in size as it approached the skies over The Golf Course. Thinking it too close, the Owner began to fear perhaps the Aircraft was going to crash. Suddenly the Light cleared to reveal it's true shape. The Owner stated the Object was a "Triangular-shaped" Craft that made " no sound" as it "hovered in the air". He noticed that a series of Red and White lights glowed underneath the Object in alternating patterns. Suddenly, a bright "searchlight" of sorts appeared from the bottom of the Craft and illuminated the surrounding area. He estimated the Object was about 1,000-feet in the air. He could do nothing but stare in awe. Regaining his composure, he grabbed his Cell Phone from his pocket and called the local Police. They dispatched a Unit to his business. As the Police Car approached, the Officer radioed his Station, stating he too could see what appeared to be a bright "Light in the sky". The Police Officer arrived and saw the same sight in the sky that the owner was seeing. However by this time, the "searchlight" was off and the Object was now 1,500-feet above the ground. The two men watched in amazement as the Craft slowly ascended into the sky and began to move off at a slow speed towards the Northeast. Both made official reports on their experience. No Government Agency investigated the matter.
