American made, 1963s ''The Slime People'' (while hokey), is a rather interesting Black & White treasure of ''B''-Movie Horror. The film makes use (to a point of nausea) of so many fog machine effects, through most of the film, the Actors are hard to see. Perhaps borrowing from the long known Urban Legend of The ''Lizard People of Los Angeles'' (said to have lived below The City for Eons), The Slime People are Humanoid Creatures that ''leak'' a slimy substance (really not explained). Their goal after centuries of being forced to live underground (they used to live surface-side millions of years ago) is to re-take Los Angeles. They surround LA with a ''solid fog wall'' (really) that cannot be penetrated from the outside. Using their ''Spear Weapons'' (again, really) The Slime People begin their invasion. Those survivors of the attack, of which one happens to be a Scientist, uses Sodium Chloride (who knew), to open a hole in the Fog Wall and allows The US Army to get through and kill The Slime People (or at least drive them back underground for the sequel that never came thankfully).
