An English Myth from Northumberland – The ‘’Simonside Drawfs’’ were a type of ‘’Druegar’’ (small, supernatural Beings). They were mischievous pranksters, who liked to wander marshes and moors at night with torches. IF a wayward victim followed the torches, thinking they were a means to safely traversing a Moor, They were wrong. The Simonside Drawfs were trying to lure the hapless subject to their death – by drowning (at worst), or to become hopelessly lost (at best). With the coming of The Dawn, The Beings simply vanished – only to ‘’reappear’’ with The Night. They were also identified with being ‘’Minions’’ of mor more ‘’Evil Creatures’’, such as Vampires and Witches.
