Sometimes described as Canada's Roswell , The Shag Harbor Incident happened on October 4, 1967 over the small Coastal Community of Shag Harbor, Nova Scotia. On the night in question, a small Fishing Bat was working in the Harbor (halfway out in the water). The Crew stated that a bright light hit the water several thousand feet in front of their vessel. The impact was described as a loud whoosh, similar to a bomb exploding . Several hours later, another group on the shore, reported seeing a large glowing disc , descend into the waters of Shag Harbor. It made no sound. The Object was estimated to hover for a short time (prior to going into the water). The estimated altitude was 800 feet. The craft was also said to be 300 feet in diameter. The Royal Canadian Air Force was alerted. Search planes and ships scoured Shag Harbor. The Canadian Government stated they found no trace of any downed aircraft. However, stories began to surface. Some working in the Harbor said that Rescue and Recovery Personnel (Frogmen), HAD found something at the bottom of Shag Harbor. In fact, it was said one Frogmen had to be evacuated for what appeared to be radiation poisoning . Other Townspeople reported late night salvaging efforts by The Military. Hundreds of armed Soldiers were stationed at the docks of The Harbor. Of course, The Canadian Government said that nothing was found and that the Townspeople were mistaken with all the Military activity. (Or were they? )
