Between 1884 and 1885, in Austin, Texas (US), an (as yet) unidentified Serial Killer prowled that City. Often in Alleys or by ‘’breaking into homes’’, this ‘’Monster’’ would trap unsuspecting House Servants and dispatch them with an Axe. Dubbed by The New York Times as ‘’The Servant Girl Annihilator’’, at least (8) known Victims were attributed to ‘’Him’’. The majority of The annihilator’s victims were Black Women, but He did kill several Caucasians to include (1) known Male. No horrific the crime scenes, that most often The Families who employed the poor women simply moved away from Their former homes. The Annihilator is also one of the ‘’side bets’’ for another infamous Killer of the same time – ‘’Jack The Ripper’’. Some ‘’Ripperologists’’ state that – the reason The Annihilator was never caught, was that ‘’He’’ escaped The Country in 1885 and made His way to London (which we later ‘’see’’ 3 years later in 1888 as ‘’Saucy Jack’’). Some even attribute The ‘’Thames Torso Murderer’’ to both culprits.
Of the (few) survivors who claimed Their injuries were die to The Annihilator, They were fairly consistent in a physical description. A ‘’Tall Man, with yellow skin – wearing all Black. Adorning The Killer’s head was a large brimmed Hat to conceal His face’’. However, in 1886 – Police ‘’liked’’ one Nathan Elgin, shot by Police - trying to either rape or murder a Girl in an Alley’’. Police ‘’determined’’ that a ‘’bloody bootprint’’ left at another crime scene ‘’matched’’ one found when Elgin was shot. However, to date – none of The Annihilator’s victims were stabbed (just hacked). Most serious Students of The Case discount Elgin (although as stated, the Killings did stop with His ‘’death’’).
