However by World War II, The Hotel was taken over by The Ministry of Defense, using to to house Officers of Britain's ''Special Operations'' Detachments. In the 1950s, The Hotel became the scene of an Ultra Secret Organization, devoted to the study of UFO and Alien Encounters in The United Kingdom. The Detachment operated from Room 801. So sensitive and secret, that only one access point was created for ''Staff''. It was heavily guarded as well. The Detachment operated under the ''guise'' of The Ministry of Defense. Informants, many years later stated that reports and some ''evidence'' numbering 10,000 of such, were kept and researched in Room 801. And much as The US ''Project Blue Book'' Room 801 was tasked with largely debunking such encounters as hoaxes or natural phenomenon. When The Project was ''shut down'' (officially) in the late 1960s all Reports and Evidence (physical and photographic), simply vanished.
