Catherine Howard was the ''Fifth'' Wife of England's King Henry VIIIs ''Eight Wives''. When She at 19 years could not produce a ''living'' Heir for The King, He ''arranged'' for Catherine to be arrested and tried for ''Adultery and Treason''. She was put to death in 1542 at The Tower. However, Her ''Ghost'' is still said to haunt Hampton Palace Court to date. A rather ''loud'' Spirit (if it is in fact Catherine), Her ''Legend'' states that while she was being taken to The Tower from Hampton, She broke free of Her Guards. Running through the Main Gallery (Hall), screaming for Her former Husband's ''mercy''. Henry did not hear, for He was said to be in ''deep prayer'' inside His private Prayer Chamber. On occasion, as is claimed by Building Security, the distinct sound of a ''scream'' can be heard (briefly), as if ''reaching out from time''. It is heard supposedly quite regularly and ONLY in The Main Gallery (the place where Catherine originally screamed for mercy).
