As we have seen, America went through a period in 1896-1897, known as "The Great Airship Panic". The most famous two of which was The Aurora, Texas Crash and The Crash In Nebraska. Debated as "mistaken" identifications, both incidents happened when Airship travel was for the most part, non-existent. Never really explained, they remain two examples of early UFO contact. England would soon follow suit with a spat of strange sightings likewise attributed to "Airship"s. This period went from 1909 until 1918. The phenomenon was known as "The Scareships". The first known report in 1909 was by a British Constable. He stated the immense Object was "oblong-shaped" and made no sound. It was "Silvery, Gray in color". The surrounding countryside was illuminated by a "giant light". The Craft descended to about 100 feet above him. The Constable said he heard "people, speaking in an unknown language - he said sounded like German". The Object (just as silently as it had came), left within minutes.

Throughout most of Northern England, these "Scareships" (so named for the fear they created when they suddenly just appeared), were reported hundreds of times by all walks of life. Some cases have the "Occupants" of these massive Crafts making contact quite frequently. They communicated in strange accents. They appeared to look human. They also were said to wear strange uniforms. Almost all of the reports involved huge lights illuminating the grounds below them. Skeptics cite German Airship designer Ferdinand von Zeppelin as flying his prototypes over England. But there is one problem with this theory. In 1909 Zeppelin's Airship Program was nowhere perfected enough to field such massive Crafts. In fact, he was concerned that England had perfected a more powerful and larger ship! (After reading the reports printed in the newspapers of the day). If he didn't build them "who" did?

During The First World War, British Government Orders, stated that these unidentified Crafts were to be "fired on". In several cases, they were - without the slightest damage. Other German Airships and Bombing Platforms were brought down quite regularly - but not The Scareships. After 1918, Scareship sightings just simply stopped without fanfare. They were never reported by any other Country. What or who were they?
