A classic "Time Travel" tale, this Case goes back to 1876. Rudolph Fentz was a New York City Small Businessman and Store Owner who mysteriously vanished without a trace in 1876. His wife reported his disappearance to Police, who searched in vain. No one had a clue as to what happened. He had more enemies or business rivals. Flash forward to 1951, still in New York City. An early morning Delivery Driver, hurriedly on his way through Times Square, us blinded by a "bright light". Hearing a thud against his trick, he soon realized that he had struck a Pedestrian. Exiting his vehicle, he noted the form of a man on the street before him. Police were summoned. Their investigation created more questions than answers. First, several bystanders said that the man simply "appeared" out of "thin air". For a brief second, the man looked completely "in awe". Police also noticed something strange. The man said meticulously dressed in the fashion if the 19th Century. The clothes were not "used", but looked very "new". In the pockets of the deceased, was 70 USD, all from the 1870s. A business card identified his name and business - Mr. Rudolph Fentz. Police went to the address and found it to have been long ago torn down. The Lead Investigator tracked down descendants (in Florida). The all remember the "story" of how "Grandpa" vanished one day. The Case was labeled as an accident with the body being eventually removed to The City's "Pauper's Field" (and buried with the many hundreds of unknown and unclaimed). Skeptics of the take label it an Urban Myth, stolen as it were - from a 1952 Sci-Fi short story called "I'm Scared". But that wad 1952 and not 1951. Perhaps, it is the "other way around". Poor Mr. Fentz may simply had been walking one day and slipped into a "rip" in time. Unbeknownst to him, right into a speeding truck in 1951.
