The Roaring River Encounter

Two Hunters "bagged" more than they thought they would on a simple camping and hunting trip to the mountains outside of Cassville, Missouri. The area there known as Roaring Rivers, is a popular hunting spot and quite isolated. On the morning of November 22, 1966 - several Hunters left their camp early to get started with their hunt. Although not lucky, they knocked of early - and made their way back. About 1,000 yards from camp, the Hunters could see smoke. They ran to their site and we're greeted with quite a sight. The camp was in shambles. In fact, their tent was burnt down as were all their belongings. All items made of metal appeared melted and twisted (as having been subjected to an extreme heat source). Having placed their tent under two interconnecting trees (for a canopy), they looked up to see the upper portion of both trees burned with branches broken off violently. They noted that there was still some early snow on the ground and that other than their camp perimeter - all other trees and dried leaves were untouched. The damage seemed localized to a specific spot only.

Suddenly, the Hunters heard a low "humming noise" above them. Looking up, they were amazed to see what appeared to be a Silvery-Disc-like Object (estimated at being 25 feet in diameter). One of the Hunters grabbed his camera and took 2 photographs of the Object. The Object speed away rapidly. One photo was hopeless ruined by motion. The other fared better. To this day, the Hunters have no clue as to what "happened" to their camp or "what" they saw in the sky.
