This unusual piece of History, The Piri Reis Map was named after Ottoman Admiral Piri Reis. Said to have been made in 1513, most contemporary sources place the information used to create it, at many thousands of years earlier. Currently, on 1/3rd of The Map survives into our time. Printed on Gazelle skin, the Map shows Coastlines of Lands either "recently" discovered or unknown of in the 15th Century. The great and very accurate detail drawn into the Coastlines, show what could only be years of surveying. Some Lands are still as yet "unknown". Many place these Ancient lands at having being destroyed millennium ago. This bodes the question as to where this - information came from. Could Ancient travel and contact with other Cultures be much older than thought Some point to the Map as being proof that Ancient Astronauts did indeed visit our Planet and "share" their information The real answer to these questions will likely never be known.
