The Ozark Howler

 A local Legend to Arkansas (US), The Howler is said to live in the dark (and high) Regions of The Ozark Mountains. It has been reported as far South as Northern Texas (and into Oklahoma and Missouri as well!) Said to be a large, Feline-type creature , local Hill Folk have attached human parts to The Howler Myth as well (turning it into a type of Were-Cat). Said to be 300 pounds, it is said to have dark gray or black fur. It is know for it's blood-curdling shriek or howl it gives off (as a warning ). The legend goes back centuries in the Region and still persists today. In some parts, locals will NOT go out into the mountains after dark.
