NOT to be confused with ‘’Crucifixion’’ – The ‘’Ordeal of The Cross’’ was an actual method of determining guilt by none other than Emperor Charlemagne in the 8th Century AD. A ‘’simple method’’ – really, The Accuser and Accused stood in open Court. Both were made to raise their arms parallel to the ground – ‘’in imitation of the shape of ‘’God’s Cross’’. BOTH Parties had to keep Their arms so raised. The first to lower them – was found guilty and executed under Authority of The Emperor!
