The Olmec Dragon

The Olmec Culture of Mesoamerica dated back to some 1,200 BC. Mysterious and rather ‘’advanced’’ for a ‘’Stone Age’’ Culture, little is known of it’s religious rituals and Gods. Of these few, one that is most common, was The ‘’Dragon Deity’’ (also called The ‘’Olmec Dragon’’). With ‘’flame’’ covering The ‘’Beast’’, The Dragon was probably associated with The Earth. It was seen both as Creator and Protector of The Olmec. Having been ‘’born’’ of the deep ‘’fires of Earth’’, earthquakes and related seismic activities were The Olmec Dragon ‘’stirring’’ thru The Earth.
