The Nine Sorceresses

From Geoffrey of Monmouth's earlier ''Arthurian Cycle'', The ''Nine Sorceresses'' were Guardians of Avalon, that mythical Land from which The Sword of Power, ''Excalibur'' was forged. In His volume, The ''Sorceresses'' were akin to ''Merlin'' and The ''Lady of The Lake''. It was they who ''fostered'' Morgan Le Fey, before Her ''turn'' into ''Evil''. They control Fire, Water and Air in Avalon. Being Eternal Beings, not much is known (or explained) of Their Origins.
