The Newton ''Lights''

Well publicized and just as equally forgotten – an incident happened in The Town of Newton, Connecticut on May 27, 1987. The reported ''sighting'' of a ''phenomenon'' in the skies over Town was witness (and photographed) by many in The Town. Some of these witnesses were both Fire and Police. To date, NO explanation has ever been given (or even speculated at). The Case is as follows....

Between 9:30 and 10:15PM on the night in question, many were enjoying a rather calm and warm night (a good thing in Connecticut). With so many people out, many began to notice a ''strange series of colored lights'' which suddenly and without fanfare – just appeared over the Town. 25 such ''Lights'' appeared, in varying colors alternating between ''bright White, Blue, Orange and Red''. Many noted that the pattern that the ''Lights'' took was circular in view. Most thought it was a solid ''Object'' while other stated that it appeared to be ''many smaller light, moving under their own control''.

Soon local Police and Fire Agencies responded to the many calls coming from ''scared'' Residents. The ''Lights'' were guesstimated at being around 1,500-feet from the ground. Soon other nearby Towns began to call into The Police Dispatch – all wondering just ''what that strange series of pulsating lights over Newton was...'' After about 20-minutes and without cause or effect – the series of Lights simply ''winked out of sight''. Local calls to The US Military found that nothing was in ''the air'' or even ''coming in'' (referencing the possibility of ''Space Debris''). Many photographs of the phenomenon have been published, with as stated...NO EXPLANATION!
