The Newark ''Holy Stones''

Discovered in Newark, Ohio in 1860 - The so-named Newark Holy Stones seem to link Ancient visitations by Biblical visitors to North America. Found by early Archaeologists buried deep inside an ancient Native American burial mound, they are truly "Out of Place" Artifacts. The items are a small stone box, inscribed in Hebrew text, and telling The Decalogue story, a small stone bowl and a Keystone. The burial mound was dated to roughly 100 BC. There is no rational explanation as to how it came to be inside the mound. Many at the time, cited proof of Ancient Hebrew contact with Native Americans (although "how" is unclear). It was postulated by skeptics at Jewish immigrants to the Region in the 1880s, may have buried the Artifacts in the mound. This too is unusual, for why would such a valuable item be parted with. To this day, The Holy Stones are an intriguing mystery.
