The 1950s in American Film was noted for it's quickly (and sometimes awfully made) Produced Sci-Fi and Horror Films. These Drive-In Classics, would serve as the foundation of what is termed ''B'' – Movies (''Bomb'' or ''Bad'', depending on your opinion). The 1953 film ''The Neanderthal Man'' fits neatly into the genre of ''silly and bad'' – so much so, it's good. A Scientist creates a ''Regression Serum'', to be used to explore the idea that Man still retains His more ''primitive past'', still buried deep within His DNA. After injecting the serum into a Mountain Lion (which regresses into a Saber-Tooth Cat, ala One Million Years ago – both Doctor and Lab Assistant take the ultimate scientific leap and turn themselves into (you guessed it), Neanderthals (Cavemen for those of you uninformed). After rampaging through the California countryside, ''Monkey Man and Friend'' get mauled by The Sabre-Tooth (getting killed), with ''Kitty'' being shot dead by local Police. Bad Plot and ultimately sillier make-up, make ''The Neanderthal Man'' worth only the time of what a classic 50s ''B''-Movie Fare looks likes, and reminding oneself that people actually paid money to see these things!
