Perhaps no one else in American Crime History holds the infamous Title of the ''1st True'' Serial Killer in The US. - that Herman Webster Mudgett, aka Dr. Henry Howard Holmes (better known as ''HH''). Between 1891 and 1894 in Chicago, Illinois – Holmes killed 27 (confirmed) people (mostly Women). These were the ''ones'' He admitted to. He may have killed MANY more. In addition to His noted depravity, Holmes was a confessed Insurance Fraudster, Extortionist, and Kidnapper. But Holmes is best known for His ''Hotel & Boarding House'' (which would later be dubbed ''Murder Castle''), just blocks away from The 1893 World Fair Exhibition. It was here, that Holmes personally designed a ''torture chamber'' – with hidden rooms, halls and walkways. Holmes murdered and ''experimented'' with His victims – often burying them within ''Murder Castle's'' walls. The ''Castle'' was never purchased after Holmes execution in 1896, and actually stood until it was completely demolished in 1938. The Castle became the ultimate ''Haunted House Dare'' for many generations of local teenagers. Nothing remained after it's destruction – save a portion of the stone foundation.....but apparently THIS was enough.

In time, a US Post Office was built near (actually onto the portion of foundation) – with it empty Lot nearby (apparently NO ONE wanted to build on that either!). But The Post Office has a very high level of requested transfers...and this is why. Workers report a feeling of extreme ''dread'', especially when they have to go into The Building Basement. ''Shadow Figures'' are common, as are ''Energy Orbs'', Cold Spots and just about every king of ''poltergeist activity'' One could ''wish for''. Paranormal Investigators readily state that the ''location'' is a ''massive vortex of negative energy''.
