The Universal Horror Film Character ''Kharis'' is often interchanged with that of Imhotep in most of that Film Franchise ''Mummy'' Series. Beginning in 1932 with Imhotep – The Mummy (as we have seen), is the Centuries old ''Living Dead'' Corpse of an Egyptian Priest – cursed for attempting to resurrect His Love. Brought back as a lumbering, bandage wrapped Mummy – as in the original, Imhotep as a Mummy is short lived on the screen, as He ''transformed' into a ''mysterious Expert of Egyptian antiquities''. With the exit of Boris Karloff (the original Mummy), future ''Mummy's'' were given a different character – namely ''Kharis''. Similar to Imhotep (in that He too was a Priest or Nobleman who was so cursed), it was actually ''The Mummy's Hand'' (1940) that portrayed the screen time appearance of the ''lumbering, shuffling'' Mummy that We have come to love. Three Actors have portrayed Kharis, to include Horror Film Legend Christopher Lee.
