''The Mummy Maker'' (Anatoly Moskvin)

An unbelievable Story and quite true – Anatoly Moskvin is a 55 year Russian Man who – by many standards would be considered very intelligent and well educated. A Historian and Linguist by training, He would be arrested in 2011 by Russian Authorities for His rather strange collection of Dolls. And while the collecting of Antique Dolls is not in itself unusual, it is so by the virtue that Moskvin’s ‘’collection’’ of (26) ‘’figures’’, were the mummified remains of young girls of various ages and from various Eras. You see, Anatoly had the inclination to dig up specific young girls – arrest any further decomposition by crude forms of mummification. After this, He would dress them up in ‘’Period Clothing’’, often giving them wax or porcelain faces and hands. His collection of Dolls (as it were), were arranged around tables for ‘’Tea’’. Anatoly would have elaborate parties for His Dolls – even talking with them as if they were ‘’alive’’. His Parents (who lived with Him), though that they were just that ‘’large antique Doll’’.

After a series of Grave Robberies, Police in Novgorod would track down Moskvin. They discovered the grisly secret. Arrested, he was sent to an Insane Asylum for further examination – or until he was deemed ‘’sane enough’’ to stand Trial. It was learned by Doctors, that Anatoly may have been psychologically scarred as a child, when His Mother forced Him to kiss a deceased Relative at a Funeral. Later, it was learned that He had a fascination with young children who did far too early in life. Seeing that ‘’They’’ were ‘’robbed of life’’, Anatoly felt it ‘’proper’ to give Them a ‘’second chance’’. His 2019 evaluation for Trial was denied due to the fact that He still feels the same towards dead Children. He will in all likelihood – remain under Medical Treatment for the remainder of His Life. And His Dolls? All efforts were made to identify all and return them to Their ‘’proper’’ Resting Places.
