1947 was a popular year for Close Encounters with Unidentified Flying Objects. At least that was what Private Pilot John Janssen would come to remember. In August of 1947, he was flying over Morristown, New Jersey when he experienced a near fatal Encounter. Flying at roughly 6,000-feet in his small Cessna Aircraft, he suddenly was flanked on either side of his Plane by 6 glowing, Ball-like Objects (3 to each side). Fear took over as the Objects grew to 20-feet in distance to each wingtip. Janssen also noticed that all of his Aircraft instrument gauges were dead (malfunctioning), but his Aircraft was flying more or less normally. He also felt that he was being examined (although no beams or other probes were seen). The Balls were brilliant White, reminding him of a photographer s flash bulbs . With his Radio inoperative as well, Janssen in a last ditch effort, pushed forward hard on his wheel, and being just Plane in a dive. The Objects did not follow, but Janssen almost could not recovered from the 6,000-feet dive. He did at around 1,000-feet. His instrumentation likewise came back as well. Shaken, he reported his encounter when he landed. Nothing more was heard officially. But, many Residents on the ground throughout New Jersey reported seeing the 6 Balls that day. One, in Trenton, even managed to get a picture of some of the strange Visitors .
